Sculptra in Seoul is the poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) biostimulator: injected into the deeper skin, it stimulates your own collagen so volume returns over 4–6 weeks and keeps building. Unlike a hyaluronic acid filler that adds volume on the spot, Sculptra's result is gradual, structural and long — generally around two years.
Dr. Hongseok Kim uses it for nasolabial folds, overall facial wrinkles and volume in the cheekbones, cheeks and temples, and will tell you plainly when a filler or Juvelook Volume would suit you better. Temporary swelling or bruising is normal; results vary by person.

02Biocompatible Synthetic Polymer Ensures Safety
Sculptra is a product with proven safety, approved by the U.S. FDA, European CE, and Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). PLLA is a biocompatible synthetic polymer that naturally metabolizes into water and carbon dioxide through normal metabolic processes. It gradually degrades and is absorbed over 4–6 months, disappearing naturally.
03Minimally Painful, Customized Cannula Procedure
The cannula used in Sculptra procedures has a blunt tip, minimizing contact with blood vessels to reduce bruising, bleeding, and irritation. This makes the treatment less painful. While individual pain tolerance may vary, the sensation is typically limited to mild needle discomfort or slight soreness. Due to the rounded tip of the cannula, vascular complications are less likely compared to standard needles. However, achieving suitable results requires a high degree of skill to control the direction and placement for precise volume enhancement.
