Rejuran Recovery Day by Day: When Do Bumps Go? Methods, Risks
Rejuran recovery day by day: bumps usually settle within a day or two, bruises take longer. Plan trip days, methods, risks. VOS Dermatology, Gangnam

Wondering what Rejuran recovery day by day really looks like when you only have a long weekend in Seoul?
If your trip also has photos, a night out or a jjimjilbang on the list, the parts about day two and bruising matter most.
This covers what your skin does from the first hour to day seven, which Rejuran methods change that, the risks worth knowing, and how many nights the session needs inside a short trip.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hongseok Kim, a board-certified dermatologist with 21 years of practice and the medical director of VOS Dermatology Clinic in Gangnam. I perform the procedures myself, from the first consultation to the last injection.
For a short stay, a few facts about the clinic help: a medical interpreter for your language at no extra charge, one price list for every nationality, nitrous-oxide sedation for people who dread needles (used in more than 5,700 cases), and Saturday hours from 10:00 to 16:00.
Most people plan around the little bumps, yet a bruise, if you get one, is what decides when you look ready for the camera.
The bumps from each injection point usually flatten within a day, redness settles in one to two days, and a bruise can take around a week to fade. Book the session on the first or second day of your trip and the rest of it stays yours.
If your dates are set, send them on WhatsApp with one front-facing photo taken in daylight and ask which day of your trip the session should go on; the consult on WhatsApp in English is free.

What happens in the first hours after Rejuran?
Rejuran is a polynucleotide (PN) injection. The product goes into the skin as many small deposits, and each deposit lifts a little dome a few millimeters across, a lot like a mosquito bite. A full cheek can carry dozens of them. That dotted pattern is what people mean by "the bumps," and it's the expected look right after treatment, not a sign that something went wrong.
In the first hours your face usually feels warm and a little tight, similar to a mild sunburn. Pinpoint marks at the needle entry points are common and close quickly. The domes start to soften as the product spreads into the surrounding tissue, so by evening many of them are already lower.
Published reviews of polynucleotide injections in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology describe side effects as mostly mild, short-lived reactions at the injection site, such as redness, swelling and small bruises. That fits the usual shape of recovery: the skin looks busiest on treatment day and much quieter by day two.
Rejuran recovery day by day, from day 0 to day 7
| Day | What you'll usually see | What fits your trip |
|---|---|---|
| Day 0 (treatment day) | Raised dots, warmth, pinpoint marks | A quiet dinner and an early night |
| Day 1 | Most dots flat, faint redness or uneven texture | Walking, cafés, museums, with sunscreen |
| Day 2 | Redness mostly gone, a few tender spots if pressed | Photos in most light, normal sightseeing |
| Day 3 to 4 | Any bruise turns yellow-green | Sightseeing, but sauna and hard workouts still on hold |
| Day 5 to 7 | Bruises fading, skin feels smoother to touch | Most plans; ask before adding another treatment |
Two things stretch this timeline. Thin skin, especially under the eyes, bruises more easily and holds a bruise longer. And anything that makes you bleed a little more, such as aspirin, fish-oil supplements or a few drinks the night before, raises the chance of a bruise.
If a bruise does appear, it usually shows on day one, looks darkest on day two, and then fades through yellow over roughly a week. Concealer generally covers it well from about day two.
The skin-quality change you're having Rejuran for runs on a slower clock, over weeks rather than days. I've laid out what to expect after the first week in my week-by-week look at realistic Rejuran results.

Which Rejuran methods change how fast you heal?
When it comes to recovery, "method" means two choices: which Rejuran product, and how much of it goes where.
Rejuran Healer is PN on its own. It's commonly chosen for sensitive skin, redness and a weakened skin barrier, and it follows the standard pattern in the table above.
Rejuran HB combines PN with hyaluronic acid and lidocaine, a local anesthetic, so the session itself tends to feel more comfortable. Healing looks much the same as Healer. If you're weighing HB with a longer stay in mind, I go through it in how HB fits healing days and trip length after 40.
Rejuran Eye is formulated for the under-eye area. The product isn't the issue there; the skin is. Under-eye skin is among the thinnest on the face, so this is the area most likely to bruise, and the one I'd place earliest in a short trip.
The second choice is volume and area. More product and more areas mean more injection points, and every point is a small chance of a bruise. Treating cheeks alone heals faster than cheeks, under-eyes and neck in one sitting.
Nitrous-oxide sedation makes the session easier to sit through and has no effect on healing. Its calming effect generally wears off within minutes of taking the mask off, so it doesn't eat into your afternoon.
How I approach a Rejuran session on a short trip
Every skin is different, and the diagnosis and treatment have to differ too. So a plan here starts with a skin analysis (the clinic has 3D skin analysis), and from there I choose the product and the amount for your face rather than a set package. The dose should be exact: never more and never less than your skin needs. On a short trip, that discipline also keeps the downtime honest.
Say you teach English in Taipei, you have four nights in Seoul, and you'd like Healer for dull cheeks plus Eye for fine lines under the eyes. There's also a friend's birthday dinner on night three. My reasoning would run like this: the cheeks can be done on day one and will almost certainly look ordinary by the dinner. The under-eyes carry a real chance of a bruise that is still yellow on night three. If that dinner is the evening you care about, the cheeks go ahead this trip and the under-eyes wait for the next one.
Doctor's note
If one evening on your trip matters more than the others, tell me which one. I would rather leave an area for next time than have you hiding a bruise behind sunglasses at the dinner you flew in for. Rejuran builds over a course anyway, so a smaller first session costs you very little.

How many nights in Seoul should you book?
From the skin's side, one night after treatment is enough for most of the bumps, and two nights covers the redness. A bruise is the wildcard, and it's the reason I'd treat at the start of a trip, not the end.
The clinic calendar matters too. VOS is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 19:00, Friday until 20:00, and Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00, and closed on Wednesdays, Sundays and public holidays. If you'd like the option of being seen again before you fly, leave an open clinic day between the session and departure. A Saturday session with a Monday-morning flight leaves only Sunday in between, when the clinic is closed; a Friday session gives you Saturday as well.
Also keep in mind that one visit is usually the start of a course rather than the whole of it. I explain what a single trip can and can't achieve in what Rejuran can do on a short Korea trip.
What decides the cost for your face
Four things move the figure: which product you have (Healer, HB or Eye), how much product your face needs across how many areas, whether you add nitrous-oxide sedation, and how many sessions you plan, in this trip or across trips. The price list is the same for every nationality. Deposit and payment method are settled after the consultation, so ask about both when you write. Tell us on WhatsApp which areas you're thinking about and ask what that would come to for your case.
Worth knowing: The day you land is rarely the right day for injections. After a long or overnight flight, skin and sleep are both short, and a calmer first evening makes it easier to notice how your skin is actually settling.
Aftercare that keeps the recovery short
For the first day, leave your face alone: no rubbing, no massage, no face rollers, and a gentle cleanser only. Sunscreen from the next morning onward matters more in a city where you're walking outdoors all day.
For about two to three days, skip the jjimjilbang, saunas, hot baths, hard workouts and heavy drinking. Heat and a raised heart rate widen blood vessels, which can make swelling and bruising worse. A long walk around Bukchon or a palace is fine; a hot-room session is not.
Hold off on another laser or peel in the same trip unless it's been planned together. Rejuran-branded creams and serums are pleasant to use, but they won't stand in for the injection, for reasons I explain in why a Rejuran serum can't do what the injection does.

What are the risks, and who should wait?
Risks and side effects to know
The common reactions are temporary: raised dots, redness, mild swelling and tenderness for a day or two, and bruising that can last up to about a week. Less often, a small firm spot lingers for several days where more product went in. Infection and allergic reactions are rare but possible with any injection.
As general medicine, it's wiser to wait or skip Rejuran if you have active acne, a cold sore or any infection on the area, if you've had a laser or peel there very recently, if you've taken isotretinoin in recent months, or if you're pregnant or breastfeeding. Polynucleotides are made from fish DNA, usually salmon or trout, so a known fish allergy needs to be discussed first. Blood thinners and some supplements raise the bruising risk; bring the list with you rather than stopping anything on your own.
If, after you're home, an area becomes hot, more painful by the day, spreads in redness, drains fluid, or you develop a fever, see a doctor locally without waiting. A yellow bruise or a tiny firm dot is usually just time. Take a daylight photo of anything that worries you, and ask on WhatsApp how follow-up works once you've flown home. How quickly you heal varies by person, and the timeline above is the common pattern, not a schedule.

Before you message us
Send three things on WhatsApp at https://wa.me/821096974628: a front and a side photo in daylight, your arrival and departure dates, and any medicine or supplements you take. Then ask one question about your own trip: "With these dates, which day should the session go on, and is the under-eye area realistic this time?"
The consult on WhatsApp in English is free, and when you come in, a medical interpreter for your language is provided at no extra charge. Healing time and results vary by person.
Your visit starts with a skin analysis, and for Rejuran the first thing I look at is how thin the skin is under your eyes and over your cheeks, because that decides whether your trip has room for a bruise.
