Gouri and Belotero Revive in Seoul: A Mother’s Skin Booster Case
Gouri and Belotero Revive in Korea, explained by the dermatologist who treated her: what each booster does, why pair them, what shows early and VOS prices.
- Gouri
- Belotero Revive
I’m Dr. Hongseok Kim, a board-certified dermatologist with 21 years in practice and the founder of VOS Dermatology in Gangnam. At VOS I see every patient myself, from the first consultation to the treatment, and I don’t pass anyone to another doctor. When a patient agrees to share their visit on video, I write down what we did and why, as I would explain it in the consultation room. This case is a little different: the creator, Rina, brought her mother.
The short answer first: Gouri and Belotero Revive are two skin boosters that do different jobs. Gouri is a liquid PCL collagen stimulator that supports elasticity and a natural tightening effect over time, and Belotero Revive is a hyaluronic acid booster used mainly under the eyes for hydration and fine lines. Neither adds obvious volume. This case is for anyone, including parents visiting family in Seoul, who wants fresher, firmer-looking skin without a changed face.

Dr. Kim’s quick take
- Gouri is a liquid PCL (polycaprolactone) collagen stimulator. It does not fill a spot; it supports your own collagen for elasticity and a natural tightening effect that develops over time.
- Belotero Revive is a hyaluronic acid skin booster with glycerol, used mainly under the eyes for hydration, fine lines and mild hollowing. Hydration is the part people notice first.
- Gouri is not on our published price list, so its price is confirmed at consultation. Belotero Revive is listed, and you will find it below.

A surprise for a visiting mother
Rina lives in Korea, and in her reel she explains that her mother came to visit, so she wanted to surprise her with a beauty treatment in Seoul. Her caption names the two treatments: Gouri collagen booster and Belotero Revive skin booster. She also writes that the first effect was visible right away, and that they are waiting for bigger results to come.
I don’t share a patient’s medical details here. What I can share is the reasoning behind this pairing, and how I approach a first treatment for someone who is only in Seoul for a short visit.
Gouri: collagen support from inside the skin
Gouri is a liquid-type PCL, or polycaprolactone, collagen stimulator. It is injected to strengthen elasticity, soften fine lines and improve skin texture. The important word is stimulator. A hyaluronic acid filler fills a specific spot; Gouri is designed to encourage your own skin to build collagen, so the effect is a natural tightening rather than added volume.
That also means it is gradual. Collagen takes time to form, so Gouri is a treatment you judge over the following weeks and months, not in the mirror on the same day. Session details such as interval and downtime are set at consultation, because they depend on the skin and the areas we treat. You can read more on our Gouri treatment page.
Belotero Revive: hydration for the thinner skin under the eyes
Belotero Revive is a hyaluronic acid skin booster combined with glycerol. On our price list it is used mainly for the under-eye area, to improve hydration, fine lines and mild hollowing. It refreshes that area without the weight of a volumising filler, which matters because the skin there is thin and shows lumps easily.
Hydration is usually the first thing people notice after a hyaluronic acid booster, which fits what Rina describes seeing early. If the under-eye area is your main concern, I compare the options we use in my Rejuran Eye article and my Korean under-eye filler guide.
Worth knowing: Early glow and long-term firmness are two different results. The hydration from a hyaluronic acid booster shows sooner; collagen from a stimulator such as Gouri builds slowly. Judge each on its own timeline.
Why I pair a fast booster with a slow one
Patients on a short trip want to see something before they fly home, and they also want a result that lasts after. Pairing Belotero Revive with Gouri covers both. One gives the skin hydration soon after the visit, and the other works on elasticity over the following months.
Gouri is one of several collagen biostimulators. Sculptra is PLLA and Juvelook Volume is PDLLA, while Gouri is PCL. I choose between them by skin type, area and whether you need volume or mainly elasticity. I explain the differences in my Korean Sculptra article and in my Korean skin boosters guide.
Treating a parent who is visiting Seoul
Mature skin often responds well to boosters, and they suit a visit of a week or two. I still treat a visiting parent exactly like any other patient. I ask about medicines, recent treatments and how the skin has healed before, and I examine the areas they care about. If the real concern is clear sagging along the jawline, boosters alone are not the answer, and I will suggest lifting instead.
Our coordinators and interpreters handle the conversation in English, so a family member does not need to translate.
One practical point for older patients: please bring a list of the medicines you take, including supplements. Some of them, such as blood thinners, make bruising more likely after any injection, and I would rather plan around that than discover it in the chair. It is also worth telling us about any filler or booster you have had before, even years ago, because it changes where and how I place a new product. None of this is meant to put anyone off. It simply lets me give a visiting parent the same careful plan I would give my own family.
How I would plan this for you
Every plan starts with an in-person consultation with me. Here is what I check:
- Elasticity or volume. Gouri for elasticity and natural tightening, a different biostimulator if volume is needed.
- The under-eye area. Whether hydration with Belotero Revive is enough, or another option suits it better.
- Your dates. Book boosters early in your stay so small injection marks have time to settle.
Belotero Revive is listed below and on our price list. Gouri is not on our published list, so its price is confirmed at consultation before anything is done. Prices are the same for every nationality. If you want a booster plan built around injections for pores and oil instead, see Suhandi’s skin botox and Rejuran HB case.
Before you message us
Send us clear photos of the face in daylight without makeup, the main concern, and arrival and departure dates on WhatsApp. We reply in English, and I review the plan with the team before you book. Results vary from person to person, so treat this case as a starting point for your own consultation, not a promise.

Who I recommend this combination for
- Your skin has lost some firmness and fine lines are appearing, and you want it to look healthier rather than filled
- You would like a natural tightening effect that builds from inside the skin over time
- The thin skin under your eyes looks dry, crepey or slightly hollow
- You are visiting Seoul for a short time and want boosters with little visible recovery
Not the right first step if: you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, or your main concern is clear sagging of the jawline. Strong sagging usually needs lifting first, and I will say so at consultation.
