Juvelook, Botox and Rejuran Lips in Seoul: A Natural Refresh Case

Juvelook, botox, laser and Rejuran for the lips in Korea, explained by the dermatologist who treated her: a natural lower-face refresh, no duck lips, prices.

  • Laser
  • Juvelook
  • Botox
  • Rejuran (lips)

I’m Dr. Hongseok Kim, a board-certified dermatologist with 21 years in practice and the founder of VOS Dermatology in Gangnam. I see every patient myself at VOS, from the first consultation to the treatment, and I don’t pass anyone to another doctor. When patients agree to share their visit on video, I write down what we did and why, as I would explain it in the consultation room. This is Oxana’s case.

The short answer first: a natural lower-face refresh usually comes from several gentle treatments that each do one job. In Oxana’s plan, laser refreshed the skin surface, Juvelook supported collagen and skin quality, botox relaxed specific muscle activity, and Rejuran in the lips improved lip skin quality without adding volume. This case is for anyone who wants to look fresher, not different, and who is wary of the overfilled look.

Dr. Kim’s quick take

  1. A natural refresh usually comes from several gentle treatments, each with one job, rather than one big change.
  2. Rejuran in the lips works on skin quality and hydration, not volume, which is why it suits people who do not want “duck lips”.
  3. Juvelook builds your own collagen gradually and is designed as a course of three sessions.

“I didn’t want duck lips — I just wanted to refresh and rejuvenate the area while keeping a natural look.”

“I wasn’t happy with my lower face and neck”

That is how Oxana described her reason for coming to Seoul. She wrote that after a detailed skin analysis she had a consultation with me, and that together we decided on a combination of laser, Juvelook, botox and Rejuran in her lips.

I don’t share a patient’s private medical details or amounts on this page. What I can share is the reasoning behind a plan like this, because I apply the same logic to everyone with the same goal.

Rejuran in the lips: quality, not volume

Her most important sentence for me was this one: she did not want duck lips, she just wanted to refresh the area and keep it natural. Many patients assume the only lip treatment is filler. It is not.

Lips change with age in two ways. Some people lose shape and support, and for them volume can be the right conversation. Many more simply notice that the lip skin looks drier, finer-lined and less smooth than it used to. Adding volume to that second group often creates exactly the look they were afraid of. What they need is better skin on the lips they already have.

Rejuran is a polynucleotide skin booster that supports the skin’s own repair. Rejuran HB adds hyaluronic acid and lidocaine, and it is the type listed for the lips on our menu. In the lips it works on the quality of the skin, hydration and smoothness, rather than shape or size. The lips look healthier, not bigger. I explain all the Rejuran types in my Rejuran Korea article.

Juvelook: building collagen gradually

Juvelook combines PDLLA microparticles with hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid gives hydration now, and the PDLLA stimulates your own collagen over the following weeks. That is why I describe it as a skin-quality treatment first. It improves texture, fine lines and firmness gradually rather than overnight.

The documented protocol is three sessions. Small bumps right after injection are expected and settle, and temporary swelling, bruising or redness can last a few days, so I book it early in a stay. My Juvelook Korea guide explains the difference between Juvelook Skin and Volume.

Botox and laser: the supporting roles

Botox relaxes specific muscle activity, and how it is placed depends on the area and the goal. Laser works on the skin surface, tone and texture. Oxana did not name the exact laser in her post, so I won’t either. The choice depends on the skin in front of me, and I compare the main types in my Korean laser treatment guide. If you are new to botox in Korea, my Korean botox article covers brands and safety.

Worth knowing: Combining treatments is about order and spacing, not about doing more. Each one does a single job, and the plan only works if each has room to settle before your flight.

Comfort, and checking what goes into your skin

Oxana wrote, with some humour, that she was obsessed with the anesthesia. Comfort matters, especially when several areas are treated in one visit. We use numbing before injections, and our price list includes comfort options such as nitrous oxide sedation and intravenous pain management, which we agree on before starting.

She also noticed something she said stood out compared with other clinics: she was asked to photograph the product numbers. You should be able to see exactly what is used on your face. I would rather you check than wonder.

This matters more when you are abroad. You may not read Korean labels, and you are making decisions quickly on a short trip. Seeing the product, its name and its number before it is opened gives you one less thing to take on trust. It also gives you a record to show a doctor at home if you ever need one.

How I would plan this for you

Every plan starts with an in-person consultation with me. Here is what I check:

  • Shape or quality. Do you want a different shape, or healthier skin in the same shape? The answer decides between filler and boosters like Rejuran.
  • Which layer. Surface tone points toward laser; thinning and fine lines point toward collagen support such as Juvelook.
  • Your dates. Juvelook is a course, and each treatment needs a few days to settle. Book early in your trip.
  • What not to do. If one treatment would cover what you need, I will not add three more. A refresh is judged by how natural you look afterwards, not by how many items were on the plan.

Our listed prices are below and on our price list, the same for every nationality, and the exact plan is set at consultation. See our Juvelook, Rejuran and Botulinum Toxin pages, or compare with Heli’s skin botox and ECM booster case.

Before you message us

Send us clear photos of your face in daylight without makeup, including your lips and a side profile if your lower face or neck is the concern, plus your arrival and departure dates on WhatsApp. We reply in English, and I review the plan with the team before you book. Is it for you?

Who I recommend this combination for

  • Your lower face and neck look tired, and you want a refresh rather than a new shape
  • You would like your lips to look healthier and smoother without adding filler volume
  • You prefer several gentle treatments that each do one job over one aggressive one
  • You want to know exactly which products are used on your face

Not the right first step if: you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active cold sore or skin infection, or you want a clearly bigger lip. Volume is a different treatment, and I will explain the difference at consultation.

Q&A

Questions patients ask me about Laser + Juvelook + Botox + Rejuran (lips)

Can Rejuran be injected into the lips?
Yes. Rejuran HB, which combines polynucleotide with hyaluronic acid and lidocaine, is used for the lips on our list. It works on the quality of the lip skin, meaning hydration and repair, rather than adding shape or size, so the result looks like healthier lips, not bigger ones.
What is the difference between Juvelook and filler?
Filler adds volume where it is placed. Juvelook combines PDLLA microparticles with hyaluronic acid, giving hydration now and stimulating your own collagen over the following weeks. It improves texture, fine lines and firmness gradually, and the documented protocol is three sessions.
Is it safe to combine laser, Juvelook, botox and Rejuran in one visit?
They can often be planned in the same trip because they work on different layers and areas. I decide the order, the areas and the spacing at consultation, based on your skin and your flight date, so each treatment has time to settle.
How painful is it?
We use numbing before injections, and Rejuran HB itself contains lidocaine. Patients still feel small pricks. For people who are anxious, our price list includes comfort options such as nitrous oxide sedation and intravenous pain management, which we discuss before the session.
Why do you show patients the product numbers?
So you know exactly what goes into your skin. Oxana noticed that she was asked to photograph the product numbers. Being able to check the product you paid for is a reasonable expectation, and I would rather you check than wonder.
