Rejuran HB Plus Seoul After 40: Healing Days and Trip Length

Rejuran HB plus Seoul: a 30-minute visit, 2–3 days of possible redness, three sessions a month apart. Plan the trip with VOS Dermatology, Gangnam.

VOS Dermatology Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul

A Rejuran HB plus Seoul appointment takes about 30 minutes, and the redness, swelling or small bruises it can leave usually settle within 2–3 days. That puts the treatment near the start of your trip, with a few quiet days between it and the flight home. For most visitors over 40, the real worry sits in that window: will the face still look marked at the airport, and who answers questions once you're back in Sydney, Dubai or Toronto?

I'm Dr. Hongseok Kim, a board-certified dermatologist with 21 years of experience, and at VOS Dermatology Clinic I see patients myself from the consultation through the procedure. I've written this for readers in their 40s, 50s and 60s, and for adult children planning a parent's trip, who need the days after HB plus mapped onto a real itinerary.

HB plus is the Rejuran version that adds hyaluronic acid and lidocaine to polynucleotide (PN), so it aims at hydration as well as repair, and the injections tend to feel more comfortable than plain PN. What it asks of your calendar is small on the day and bigger over three months, which is why the trip plan matters as much as the product.

If you already have rough dates, send them on WhatsApp with one line about your skin: dry, sensitive, or prone to redness.

Why HB plus suits drier, thinner skin after 40

Rejuran HB plus combines PN, purified from salmon DNA, with hyaluronic acid for hydration and lidocaine for comfort. PN supports the skin's own repair process, while the hyaluronic acid adds water-binding support.

The mechanism shapes what you should expect. With age, fibroblasts in the dermis, the cells that make collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, become less active. The barrier weakens, skin feels drier and more reactive, and fine lines and rough texture show up first. PN is micro-injected into the dermis to support that repair environment, so the change shows in quality: texture, hydration, fine lines. A review comparing PN and PDRN in the journal Pharmaceutics frames these molecules as support for tissue repair, which is a fair way to think about them.

What HB plus doesn't do is lift a softening jawline or replace lost volume. Those are jobs for other tools on the face line treatment menu, such as collagen biostimulators. If redness is your main complaint rather than dryness, the plan usually starts elsewhere, and this piece on what helps redness in Seoul covers that ground. The Rejuran treatment page lists the three versions VOS offers: Healer for face and neck, Rejuran i for the eye area, and HB plus.

How do the days after treatment usually go?

Expect visible marks on the treatment day and a fading tail for 2–3 days: small raised dots at the injection points at first, then possible redness, swelling or a few small bruises. A 2024 systematic review in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology found that side effects across the included polynucleotide studies were mild and generally resolved within about a week.

WhenWhat's commonWhat it means for the trip
Treatment dayAbout 30 minutes of treatment; raised dots where the needle went inKeep the evening free of photos and plans
Days 1–3Possible redness, swelling or small bruises, fadingLow-key sightseeing, sunscreen, a hat
Days 4–7Most marks gone; a stray bruise can lingerThe usual window for a comfortable flight
Weeks 2–12Gradual change in texture and hydrationHappens after you're home
About 1 monthTime for session two of the three-session protocolNeeds a second trip or a home plan

The first evening is the one people remember. The dots can look more noticeable in a hotel bathroom mirror than they feel. Aftercare advice commonly given after skin-booster injections includes skipping makeup on the day and avoiding saunas, hot baths, hard workouts and alcohol for a couple of days, because heat and extra blood flow can keep swelling and bruising around longer. Follow the instructions you're given on the day, since they're specific to what was injected and where.

Flying itself is mostly a comfort question. Cabin air is dry, so a plain moisturizer and sunscreen in your carry-on make sense. The bigger issue is whether you want to sit through a long flight and a family pickup with a fresh bruise on your cheek.

How many nights should the trip be?

For one Rejuran HB plus Seoul session, leave at least three days between the treatment and your flight home. That usually means booking the treatment on your first or second full day in Seoul, so the redness-and-bruise window sits inside the trip.

The clinic calendar shapes this more than people expect. VOS is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10:00–19:00, Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday 10:00–16:00, with lunch from 13:00 to 14:00 on weekdays and no lunch break on Saturday.

Worth knowing: VOS is closed on Wednesdays, Sundays and Korean public holidays. If you land on a Tuesday night, Wednesday becomes a rest day whether you planned it or not, and Thursday is the earliest treatment day. Check your dates against Korean public holidays before you book flights.

A calendar that fits many visitors: land on a Sunday, have the treatment Monday or Tuesday, keep the middle of the week quiet, and fly out on Saturday. That gives four or more days for marks to fade. Landing on a Friday morning? The 20:00 closing that day leaves room to rest first and still be seen.

Getting there is simple once you know the landmark. The building is at 806 Eonju-ro, in front of Dosan Park, 11 minutes on foot from Exit 3 of Gangnam-gu Office Station on Line 7, or 14 minutes from Exit 3 of Apgujeong Station on Line 3. For a parent who tires easily, a taxi to the door is easier, and valet parking is available at the building.

If you're also hoping for a fresh look before a wedding or reunion, order matters: a facial meant to look its best on a specific day shouldn't land on HB plus's marked days. Timing the glow from a hydra facial in Seoul walks through that sequencing.

Send your arrival and departure dates on WhatsApp, and say whether this is your first Rejuran or a repeat. Those two details show whether a closed Wednesday or a public holiday squeezes your window, and which day leaves the marks the most room to fade before you fly.

Three sessions a month apart, one trip: what are the options?

The standard Rejuran protocol is three sessions about one month apart, with improvement building within 12 weeks and results typically lasting over six months, with individual outcomes varying. One trip holds one session, so visitors usually pick one of three routes.

  • One session as a one-off. You get the early hydration and texture change of a single treatment, but not the full three-session course, so expectations should match that.
  • Monthly returns to Seoul. This works for people who visit Korea often for family or business, and less well from far away.
  • Start in Seoul, continue at home. Polynucleotide boosters are offered in many countries. If you continue with a dermatologist at home, keep a note of the product (Rejuran HB plus), the areas treated and the date, so the next doctor knows where you are in the course.

There's no wrong choice here, only a mismatch between the route and the result you expect. A single session before a family event is a reasonable plan if you know it is the first step of three, not the whole course.

VOS signature treatments: skin boosters (Juvelook, Juvelook Volume, Juveacell, Hilo Wave, Gouri), hand-injected by the doctor, and lifting with original devices (Ultherapy Prime, Thermage FLX, Sofwave, Onda and Opus)
The two things I focus on: skin boosters I inject by hand, and lifting with original devices.

Who should wait, and what are the risks?

Most reactions to HB plus are short-lived: pain at the injection points, swelling, redness, itching and bruising.

Less common problems with any injection include infection, lumps that last longer than expected, and allergic reactions. On the clinic side, VOS lists autoclave and UV sterilization, strict use of single-use disposables and regular equipment inspection as part of its safety system. On your side, the list below decides whether now is the right time.

People who usually postpone, or need a careful conversation first:

  • Anyone with a known fish or salmon allergy, since PN is derived from salmon DNA.
  • Anyone who has reacted to local anesthetics, because HB plus contains lidocaine.
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding, where data are limited and elective injections are usually deferred.
  • Active infection, cold sores, or a flare of eczema or rosacea in the treatment area.
  • People on blood thinners or supplements such as fish oil, which make bruising more likely. Never stop a prescribed medicine without talking to the doctor who prescribed it.

Whether HB plus fits your skin on the day is decided at the in-person consultation. The U.S. CDC's medical tourism guidance also advises getting copies of your records and planning follow-up care before you travel, which matters more for a three-session treatment than for a one-off.

How I approach HB plus for skin over 40

Consultation at VOS is based on skin analysis, and the clinic's diagnostic setup includes 3D skin analysis. What I'm weighing in that conversation is less about the product and more about which problem you're trying to fix.

First, is the main issue quality or structure? Dryness, crepey texture, fine lines and a tired, matte look are booster territory. Jowls and hollow cheeks are a different question. Second, how reactive is the skin? Thin, easily flushed skin tends to bruise and redden more, which changes how many quiet days I'd want you to keep. Third, is one session worth the flight for you? If the result you want depends on three sessions and you can come only once, that should be said plainly before you book.

Doctor's note

I would rather a visitor leave Seoul with one session and an accurate picture of what it does than with a three-month plan their calendar can't keep. HB plus repairs and hydrates. If what bothers you in the mirror is a softer jawline, more polynucleotide won't change it, and it's kinder to hear that before the flight than after.

If you're arranging this for a parent

Adult children often book these trips, and the questions shift: the parent's medication list, their stamina, and how much they mind being seen with marks for a few days.

Write your parent's medicines and allergies in English before the trip, including aspirin, blood thinners and supplements. Schedule family photos and celebration dinners for the end of the stay. Thinner skin can show bruises a little longer, so give an older parent the longer buffer from the table above. Saturday hours end at 16:00, which suits a morning appointment but leaves little slack if your flight lands late. The VOS website and WhatsApp channel are in English, so if your parent is more comfortable in another language, plan to be in the room with them.

Before you message us

The most useful first message is short: your arrival and departure dates, plus one daylight photo of the area you want treated, without makeup. Send it on WhatsApp at https://wa.me/821096974628 and the reply comes in English. What tends to change a plan is something small: a Wednesday arrival, a medicine that raises bruising risk, or a trip too short for three quiet days after treatment. Results and healing time vary from person to person, and the timeline on this page describes what is common for most people.

FAQ

Questions readers ask about rejuran hb plus seoul

Is Rejuran HB plus different from Rejuran Healer?
Both are built on polynucleotide (PN). Healer is the base formula used across the face and neck for overall skin repair. HB plus adds hyaluronic acid for hydration and lidocaine to make the injections more comfortable, which is why it is often considered for drier, more sensitive skin. Which version fits depends on your skin barrier, how dry the skin is and the area being treated.
Does Rejuran HB plus hurt?
You will feel many small needle pricks, and areas near bone or around the mouth can feel more sensitive. Afterward, mild tenderness at the injection points for a day or two is common and usually needs nothing more than rest.
Can I wear makeup the day after Rejuran HB plus?
Advice commonly given after skin-booster injections is to skip makeup on the treatment day and return to it once the injection points have closed, often the next day. Use clean brushes or sponges and gentle products. If redness or a small bruise remains, a light concealer is usually fine once the skin surface has closed. Follow the aftercare instructions you receive on the day.
When will I notice a difference from Rejuran HB plus?
Some people notice their skin feels more hydrated within weeks, but PN works through the skin's own repair process, so change builds gradually. On the standard protocol of three sessions about a month apart, improvement shows within 12 weeks and typically lasts over six months. A single session on one trip gives a smaller, earlier change than the full course.
Is Rejuran made from salmon?
Yes. The polynucleotide in Rejuran is purified from salmon DNA, chosen for its compatibility with human tissue. If you have a known fish or salmon allergy, mention it before treatment so the doctor can weigh whether a PN booster is appropriate for you. Also mention any past reaction to local anesthetics, since the HB plus version contains lidocaine.
Can I fly home the day after Rejuran HB plus in Seoul?
Flying the next day is usually a comfort and appearance question rather than a medical one after superficial skin injections. Redness, swelling or small bruises can last 2–3 days, and dry cabin air can make skin feel tight. If your schedule allows, leave three days between treatment and departure, and pack moisturizer and sunscreen in your carry-on.
