Rejuran Before and After: Realistic Results Week by Week

Rejuran before and after, honestly: what changes at 1, 4, 12 and 24 weeks, what it cannot change, and why three sessions matter. VOS Dermatology, Gangnam.

Dr. Hongseok Kim, board-certified dermatologist, examining skin-booster vials in the VOS consultation room, Gangnam

I'm Dr. Hongseok Kim, a board-certified dermatologist with 21 years in practice. At VOS Dermatology in Gangnam I do the consultation and the injections myself, one patient at a time, and after a Rejuran session the question I am asked most is simple: "When will I see it?" This article is my honest answer.

If you searched for Rejuran before and after pictures, here is the short version. Rejuran results are gradual: skin tends to feel more hydrated first, then texture, fine lines and resilience improve, with most people noticing change within 12 weeks. The documented course is three sessions a month apart, and results last about six months. This is for readers who want to know what a realistic change looks like before they book.

If you are still deciding whether Rejuran suits you at all, start with my full guide to Rejuran in Korea, which covers the product lines, the protocol and the price list. Here I stay on one question only: what the skin does after the needle, and when.

Why Rejuran results look different from filler results

A filler changes shape on the day. A skin booster changes condition over weeks. That difference explains most of the disappointment I see when someone compares Rejuran before and after results with a lip or cheek filler photo online.

Rejuran places polynucleotide, a material purified from salmon DNA, into the dermis in many tiny deposits. It does not sit there as volume. It supports the environment in which your own fibroblasts rebuild collagen, strengthen the barrier and hold water. That is biological work, and biology keeps its own schedule.

So the "after" you should expect is not a new face. It is the same face with skin that looks calmer, feels denser and reflects light more evenly. People around you tend to say you look rested rather than ask what you had done.

A realistic Rejuran results timeline

This is the timeline I describe in the consultation room. It follows the treatment information on our Korean site, and individual timing varies.

Point in timeWhat you are likely to see
Same daySmall raised bumps at each injection point; they usually flatten within hours to a day
Days 1–3Minor swelling, bruising or redness is possible and generally settles in 2–3 days
Weeks 1–4Skin often feels more hydrated and less reactive; changes are subtle
Session 2 and 3Given about a month apart; each builds on the previous one
Within 12 weeksMost people notice improvement in texture, fine lines and elasticity
After the courseResults typically last about six months; maintenance is then discussed

The clinical data cited on our Korean website reports wrinkle improvement of 25% at 10 weeks, 32% at 16 weeks and 36% at 28 weeks. I share those figures because they show the direction of travel: the change keeps building for months, it does not peak on day one. They are study averages, not a prediction for your face.

Worth knowing: The bumps you see in the mirror on the first evening are product, not a result. They flatten, and the skin can look briefly "puffy-smooth" before it settles. Please do not judge the outcome in the first week, in either direction.

What tends to improve, and what does not

From the documented goals of Rejuran and what I look for at follow-up, these are the changes people usually notice first:

  • Skin that feels more hydrated and less tight after cleansing
  • A smoother surface texture, especially on the cheeks
  • Softer fine lines rather than erased ones
  • Better resilience, so skin bounces back when pressed
  • Calmer, less reactive skin in people with a weakened barrier

Just as important is what a Rejuran before and after comparison will not show. It will not lift a sagging jawline. It will not fill a deep nasolabial fold or a hollow under the cheekbone. It will not remove sun spots or melasma, although skin with a healthier barrier often tolerates pigment treatment better.

If your main concern sits in that second list, the plan changes. For a broader view of where boosters fit next to lifting and volume, my overview of Korean skin boosters compares the families side by side.

One session versus the full three-session course

Many visitors to Seoul have time for one session, so this deserves plain words. A single session can give a modest boost in hydration and smoothness, and some people are content with that for an event or a trip.

The Rejuran results that last about six months, however, come from three sessions at one-month intervals. The interval is not a scheduling convenience. Each session adds to repair that the previous one started, and the skin needs time to respond before the next round.

If you can only come once, I will tell you what that one visit is likely to do and let you decide. What I will not do is squeeze three sessions into one week so a trip looks complete; the result would not be the same.

VOS signature treatments: skin boosters (Juvelook, Juvelook Volume, Juveacell, Hilo Wave, Gouri), hand-injected by the doctor, and lifting with original devices (Ultherapy Prime, Thermage FLX, Sofwave, Onda and Opus)
The two things I focus on: skin boosters I inject by hand, and lifting with original devices.

What blurs or shortens results

Some factors make results harder to see, and some shorten how long they last. None of them is dramatic on its own, but they add up.

  • Sun without protection. UV exposure breaks down collagen faster than a booster can support it. Daily sunscreen is part of the treatment.
  • Early irritation. For about a week after each session, skip saunas, intense exercise and alcohol, and do not rub or press the treated skin.
  • Comparing in different light. Bathroom lighting at night and daylight at a window can make the same skin look like two different faces.
  • Stopping at session one. The course is designed as three steps; judging it after one is like judging a fitness plan after one week.
  • Starting condition. Very thin, very dry or very sun-damaged skin often shows change later, and sometimes more of it, than skin that was already in good shape.

Smoking, poor sleep and rapid weight change also affect how skin looks. I mention them not to lecture but because patients sometimes blame the treatment for changes that come from elsewhere.

How I judge Rejuran results at VOS

Every plan starts with a consultation with me and a skin assessment, including our 3D skin analysis. I record thickness, barrier condition, redness and where fine lines sit, so that "before" is measured, not remembered.

I prefer to compare results under the same light and at the same angles, at the three-month mark rather than the first week. If a result is modest, I would rather tell you than add product to chase a photograph. The details of each Rejuran line, including Rejuran i for the eye area and HB+ with hyaluronic acid and lidocaine, are on our Rejuran treatment page.

Sometimes the honest outcome of that review is that a booster is not the main answer. If the skin is fine but the face has lost volume, a collagen-stimulating injectable such as Juvelook may be the better discussion, and I explain that difference in my Juvelook guide. If someone wants the glassy, even-toned finish people ask about, the Korean glass skin treatment article shows how boosters combine with other steps.

Keeping results after the course

Once the three-session course is done, results typically last about six months. Many people then return for maintenance, and the frequency depends on how the skin responded and what they want to keep.

The listed Rejuran prices, including per-mL options and packages, are on our pricing page. They are in KRW before 10% VAT and may change, so check the current list before you plan maintenance around a trip. In the consultation I will tell you how many mL your face reasonably needs, which matters more for cost than the number of visits.

Before you message us

If you want to know what Rejuran could realistically change for you, the most useful thing to send is a clear photo of your face in daylight, without make-up and without a filter, plus your travel dates. That gives me a fair "before" and tells me whether three sessions are possible on your schedule.

Results, timing and recovery vary from person to person. Nothing here replaces an in-person consultation with a dermatologist.

Send your concern, a photo and your dates on WhatsApp, and our team will reply with an honest plan before anything is scheduled.

FAQ

Questions readers ask about rejuran before and after

When will I see Rejuran results?
Most people notice improvement within 12 weeks, and the change builds gradually rather than appearing overnight. The small bumps you see on the day are product under the skin, not the result. I suggest judging your skin around three months after the first session, in the same light you used before treatment. Timing varies from person to person.
How long do Rejuran results last?
With the standard course of three sessions about a month apart, results typically last about six months. After that, many people choose occasional maintenance sessions. How long your own result holds depends on age, sun exposure, sleep, smoking and how your skin was doing at the start, so treat six months as a guide rather than a promise.
Will one Rejuran session show a before and after difference?
One session can make skin feel more hydrated and look a little smoother, and some people are happy with that. It is not the full protocol, though. The documented plan is three sessions at one-month intervals, and most of the visible change in fine lines and resilience comes from that repeated course rather than a single visit.
Why don't you show Rejuran before and after photos?
We do not publish before and after photos, because a photo taken in different light, with different make-up or a different camera angle can look more dramatic than the real change. Instead, I explain what the treatment is designed to do and when. In consultation, we can photograph your own skin in a consistent way so you have a fair comparison.
Can Rejuran lift sagging skin or replace filler?
No. Rejuran is a skin-quality treatment that supports repair, hydration and fine lines. It does not lift a jowl, reshape the face or restore lost volume. If sagging or hollowing is the main concern, a lifting device or a volume treatment is the better conversation, and I will say so at the consultation.

Results, timing and recovery vary from person to person. This article is general information from VOS Dermatology Clinic and does not replace an in-person consultation. Any prices mentioned are from the clinic’s official price list (KRW, before VAT) and may change.
