Korea Rejuran Recovery Center Worth It? Cost, Reviews, Methods

Need a Korea Rejuran recovery center? Usually not. Who should wait, what reviews get wrong, methods and the cost factors, from VOS Dermatology, Gangnam.

VOS Dermatology Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul

Worried you'll need a Korea Rejuran recovery center, somewhere to hide for days, before you can face a meeting or a flight after your injections?

Read this before you book extra nights.

You'll know the cost factors, what Rejuran reviews get right and wrong, how the methods differ and who should wait, so you can plan around your skin and your budget.

Hello, I'm Dr. Hongseok Kim, a board-certified dermatologist with 21 years of experience and Medical Director of VOS Dermatology Clinic in Gangnam. I do the consultation and the procedures myself, and I'm writing this because visitors often plan recovery days for Rejuran and skip the questions that matter more.

Our building faces Dosan Park and runs from the 1st to the 4th floor: consultations on the 2nd, the laser room on the 3rd, and an Inner Healing Center with a VacuMed room on the 1st. Prices are the same for every nationality.

Do you need a dedicated recovery center after Rejuran? For most people, no. The usual downtime is minor swelling, bruising or redness for two to three days, and a hotel room, a cold compress and sunscreen cover that. What a recovery service can't do is make Rejuran right for skin that shouldn't be injected this trip, and that's where I'd put your attention.

If something in your history worries you, such as a laser treatment last month, a cold sore that flares when you travel, or a fish allergy, send a daylight photo of the area on WhatsApp with your travel dates and that one question. Asking before you book means you get an honest view of what's realistic while your plans can still change.

What Rejuran recovery actually involves

Rejuran is a polynucleotide (PN) skin booster made from purified salmon DNA. It's micro-injected into the dermis to support the skin's own repair: fibroblast activity, barrier strength and hydration. It doesn't fill anything. It works on the skin's repair environment, which is why the result builds over weeks rather than showing in the mirror that evening. The details of each product are on our Rejuran treatment page.

The session takes about 30 minutes. Afterwards you'll see small raised points where the needle went in, plus some redness. Over the next two to three days, minor swelling, bruising or redness is possible. Improvement shows within about 12 weeks, the standard protocol is three sessions a month apart, and results typically last around six months.

That is the whole recovery picture for most people: a couple of days when your skin looks like it's had injections. If you've wondered why the same ingredient in a serum can't do this, I covered the 500-dalton limit on what passes through skin in a separate post.

Do you need a recovery center after Rejuran?

Most visitors don't. A search for a Korea Rejuran recovery center usually comes from someone who has seen recovery houses advertised for surgery and assumes injections need the same. They don't, for a plain reason: there is no wound to dress, no drain, no stitches and no general anaesthesia to wake up from.

What helps during those two to three days is ordinary. Many dermatologists suggest sleeping with your head a little raised the first night, skipping the sauna, hard workouts and alcohol for a day or two, cleansing gently and wearing sunscreen. Heat and extra blood flow can add to swelling and bruising, so that's what these habits are protecting against.

We do have recovery-oriented services on our Better Body Balance menu. Hyperbaric oxygen is listed as high-pressure oxygen therapy to support recovery and tissue healing, and VacuMed as intermittent vacuum therapy designed to improve circulation and accelerate post-treatment recovery. Both are optional, and whether either suits you is something we decide together at consultation. Neither replaces the basics above, and neither will hide a bruise you've already got.

Who should wait or skip Rejuran?

In short, this is the section I'd read twice. The risks of Rejuran are mostly small, but a few situations turn a two-day recovery into a longer one, and no recovery service fixes them.

Risks and side effects to know

Common and temporary: raised injection points, redness, mild swelling and bruising, usually settling within two to three days, plus tenderness when you touch the area. A 2024 systematic review of polynucleotides in aesthetic medicine described the side effects reported in studies as mostly mild and short-lived, while pointing out that many of those studies were small.

Less common: a bruise that lasts a week or more, especially if you take something that thins the blood; an acne flare or a cold sore coming back around injected skin; and, rarely, infection or an allergic reaction.

As general medical caution, these are the situations where waiting or skipping is usually the safer call:

  • an active infection, acne flare, cold sore or open irritation at the treatment site
  • a laser, peel or other procedure on the same area that hasn't fully healed
  • recent isotretinoin; many dermatologists prefer to wait some months after the course ends
  • pregnancy or breastfeeding, because there is little safety data
  • a known allergy to fish, salmon or any ingredient in the product, including lidocaine in HB+
  • blood-thinning medicines or supplements, which don't always rule you out but raise the bruising risk; never stop a prescribed medicine without talking to the doctor who prescribed it

If a reaction appears after you fly home, such as spreading redness, warmth, pain that grows instead of fading, pus or fever, see a doctor near you that day and show them what was injected and where. The US CDC's guidance for medical travelers is to bring home records of the treatment you had, and that applies to a 30-minute injection as much as to surgery. Keep the product name and amount from your visit saved on your phone.

Worth knowing: Most bruising after Rejuran comes from the needle itself. That's why the medicines and supplements you take every day affect your recovery more than any recovery service will. Write that list down before you message.

If any item on that list applies to you, put it in your first WhatsApp message along with your dates and a photo of the area, and ask plainly whether this trip is the right time. Hearing that answer before flights are booked keeps your plans flexible.

What do Rejuran reviews get right and wrong?

Forum threads and review videos repeat a handful of claims. Some hold up and some don't.

“The bumps last a week.” Mostly not. The raised injection points and swelling usually settle in two to three days. A bruise can linger longer, and that's where most week-long stories come from.

“It hurts more than filler.” It can feel sharper, because Rejuran goes into many small, shallow points rather than a few deeper ones. HB+ contains lidocaine to make the injection more comfortable, and numbing cream is commonly used before skin boosters.

“One session gave me glass skin.” That isn't how PN works. Improvement builds over about 12 weeks, and three sessions a month apart is the standard course, so a single session is a start. Fitting a course around travel is its own puzzle; I wrote about why one Seoul trip rarely covers a PN course.

“It's salmon DNA, so it can't cause a reaction.” Half true. PN is purified for high biocompatibility with human tissue, but any injected product can cause a reaction, and a fish allergy is worth raising before treatment.

VOS signature treatments: skin boosters (Juvelook, Juvelook Volume, Juveacell, Hilo Wave, Gouri), hand-injected by the doctor, and lifting with original devices (Ultherapy Prime, Thermage FLX, Sofwave, Onda and Opus)
The two things I focus on: skin boosters I inject by hand, and lifting with original devices.

Rejuran methods: Healer, HB+ and Rejuran i

We offer the full Rejuran line. The choice comes down to where it goes and what your skin needs.

ProductWhat's in itUsually considered for
Rejuran HealerPolynucleotide (PN)Face and neck; sensitive skin, redness, a weakened barrier
Rejuran HB+PN, hyaluronic acid, lidocaineHydration and a more comfortable injection
Rejuran i (Eye)PNFine lines and texture under the eyes

Rejuran isn't the answer to every complaint either. If what bothers you is sagging along the jaw rather than thin, tired skin, a booster won't lift it, and an energy device may be the better conversation; I compared five skin tightening devices for that question. If you're weighing a product that builds collagen gradually for contour, Juvelook has different trade-offs, and I explained what moves the cost of Juvelook separately.

How I approach a Rejuran plan for a short trip

Every plan at VOS starts with my skin analysis, and I choose the product and amount for your face rather than handing you a package. With injectables I aim for the exact dose your skin needs, never more and never less. The consultation is also where I set expectations: what one session can do, and what it can't.

Say you're 33, you land in Seoul on a Thursday night, you fly home the following Tuesday, and you had a fractional laser at home ten days ago on the same cheeks. In photos the skin looks healed. Here is how I'd reason. Healed on the surface isn't always settled underneath, so I'd want to see the skin in person. If it's still pink, flaky or reactive, I'd rather you have Rejuran on a later trip than inject into skin that is still recovering.

If the skin is ready, Friday suits that trip well: we're open 10:00 to 20:00, and the weekend gives redness time to calm before Tuesday's flight. Keep in mind that we're closed on Wednesdays, Sundays and public holidays, and Saturday hours are 10:00 to 16:00, so don't count Sunday as a day you could come back in.

On a short trip, the plan is shaped more by your skin's condition on arrival than by how many nights you book. A spare day is useful. A recovery stay on top of it usually isn't.

What decides the cost of Rejuran in Seoul?

I can't give you one number without seeing the area, because these factors move it:

  • The product. Healer, HB+ and Rejuran i are priced separately.
  • The amount and the areas. Cheeks only, full face, neck or under the eyes change how many millilitres you need.
  • The number of sessions. The standard course is three, a month apart; you may do one on this trip and decide the rest later.
  • Optional recovery services. Hyperbaric oxygen or VacuMed are separate items, and you don't need either for Rejuran.
  • Your days in Seoul. Hotel nights are part of your trip budget, which is one more reason not to add a recovery stay you won't use.

The price list is the same for every nationality. To get the figure for your own case, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for the areas you have in mind, with a front-facing photo taken in daylight.

FAQ

Questions readers ask about korea rejuran recovery center

Can I fly home the day after Rejuran?
For most people, yes. Flying doesn't usually change how Rejuran settles. What you carry onto the plane is the visible part: raised injection points, redness or a bruise, which typically fades over two to three days. If you want to look settled when you land, leave two days between the session and the flight, and keep the product details on your phone in case you need a doctor at home.
Is Rejuran a problem if I'm allergic to fish?
Rejuran's PN comes from purified salmon DNA, and the purification is meant to make it highly compatible with human tissue. Even so, a known fish or salmon allergy is something to raise before treatment, not after. HB+ also contains lidocaine, so a past reaction to local anaesthetic matters too. Mention any allergy in your first message so it is part of the decision from the start.
Does hyperbaric oxygen after Rejuran make recovery faster?
Hyperbaric oxygen is on our menu as high-pressure oxygen therapy to support recovery and tissue healing. It is optional, and I wouldn't present it as something Rejuran needs: for most people, swelling and redness settle in two to three days with basic aftercare. If you're curious whether it suits your trip, ask about it at your consultation.
When can I wear makeup, exercise or drink alcohol after Rejuran?
Many dermatologists suggest keeping makeup off the injected area until the next day, and skipping saunas, hard workouts and alcohol for a day or two, because heat and extra blood flow can add to swelling and bruising. Gentle cleansing and sunscreen are fine. If you have an event booked soon after, ask about your own timing at the visit.
How many Rejuran sessions do I need, and do they all have to be in Korea?
The standard protocol is three sessions about a month apart, with improvement building over roughly 12 weeks. If you can't fit three trips, one session still starts the process. Where later sessions happen is your decision, as long as whoever treats you knows which product and amount were used before.

Results, timing and recovery vary from person to person. This article is general information from VOS Dermatology Clinic and does not replace an in-person consultation. Any prices mentioned are from the clinic’s official price list (KRW, before VAT) and may change.
