Trap Botox Korea: Neckline, Units and Price in Seoul

The short answer on trap botox Korea: it is a botulinum toxin injection into the upper trapezius, the muscle that slopes from the neck to the shoulder. Relaxing it lets the muscle slim down over time, so the neck looks longer and the shoulder line lower and cleaner. At VOS it is listed as TrapTox, 100 units. What the trapezius does to your neckline

The trapezius is a large, flat muscle across the upper back. Its upper part rises from the base of the skull and the neck and attaches to the outer collarbone and shoulder blade. It shrugs your shoulders, steadies your head and works every time you carry a bag on one side.

When the upper trapezius is bulky, the line from the ear to the shoulder becomes a steep, rounded slope instead of a clear angle. The neck looks shorter, the shoulders look raised, and the upper body can look heavier than it is. Long hours at a desk, heavy bags and upper-body training can all contribute, and some people are simply built that way.

Botulinum toxin blocks the nerve signal that tells a muscle to contract. When the upper trapezius works less, it gradually loses bulk, and the slope softens. Who trap botox suits, and who it does not

A hands-on check tells me more than a photo, but these patterns are a good first guide. Trap botox tends to suit you if:

• The slope from your neck to your shoulder looks high and rounded
• Your neck looks short in photos, especially from the front
• A firm muscle ridge appears when you shrug your shoulders
• You carry tension in the upper shoulders and want the area to feel looser

It is less likely to help, or needs a different plan, if:

• The fullness at the back of the neck or upper back is soft fat
• Your shoulders are narrow or sloping because of bone structure
• Neck pain, numbness or a past injury needs a medical assessment first
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a muscular or neurological condition

Units, onset and how long it lasts

Here is how the treatment looks in numbers. The timeline is general and varies from person to person.

The trapezius is a much larger muscle than anything in the face, which is why the dose is higher than for expression lines. The units are spread across several points on each side. They are not all placed in one spot.

If you are in Seoul for a week, you will fly home before the neckline has fully changed. You will likely feel the muscle softening first and see the shape change later, at home.

Worth knowing: Trap botox slims the upper trapezius. It does not straighten posture, and it will not fix neck pain that comes from the spine or from how you sit at work. If you keep carrying a heavy bag on the same shoulder, the muscle will simply have more work to recover from.

Where shoulder filler fits in

Two treatments are often mentioned together: trap botox and shoulder filler. They do opposite jobs, and it helps to keep them apart in your head.

Trap botox reduces. It lowers and slims the muscle slope between neck and shoulder.

Shoulder filler refines a line. At VOS it uses an FDA-approved 100% hyaluronic-acid filler suited to the shoulder area to correct the upper angle of the shoulder and the collarbone groove, so the shoulder reads straighter and the neck longer. Done together, the straight-shoulder look becomes clearer. But many people only need one. If your slope is mostly muscle, botulinum toxin alone may be enough. If your shoulders look narrow or droop, filler is the more relevant conversation.

What the visit looks like in Seoul

Consultation. I look at you from the front, the side and the back, and ask you to shrug and relax. I feel the upper trapezius on both sides, because one side is often stronger, usually the side you carry your bag on. We talk about your work, your training and what bothers you in photos.

Planning. We agree on the injection points and the units before anything is prepared. You will know which product is used; VOS primarily uses Xeomin, a purified botulinum toxin.

Injection. You sit or lie comfortably, and the injections take about 10–15 minutes with very fine needles. Most people describe small pinches. You can walk out and carry on with your day.

Aftercare. For 4 hours, do not lie down or press on the treated area. On the day of treatment, skip intense exercise, saunas and alcohol, and do not massage the shoulders. Temporary redness, swelling or bruising can occur and usually clears within days. A shoulder massage at your hotel spa can wait until another day.

The two sides are rarely identical, so I plan each side separately, placing the units where the upper trapezius is thickest and keeping away from the parts you rely on for lifting.
