What Sets Seoul Dermal Filler Cost? Reviews, Methods, Recovery
Seoul dermal filler cost comes down to product, total mL and add-ons. Dr. Hongseok Kim at VOS Dermatology, Gangnam explains. Send a photo on WhatsApp.

Is the Seoul dermal filler cost you were quoted going to climb once you're in the chair, far from home?
Read this before you compare another quote.
You'll know what sets the figure, which review claims hold up, how the methods differ and what recovery means for your flight, so you can choose a plan that fits your face and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hongseok Kim, a board-certified dermatologist with 21 years of experience and the Medical Director of VOS Dermatology Clinic in Gangnam. I do the consultation and the procedure myself.
Two facts about my clinic matter for this worry. The price list is the same for every nationality, and the person who discusses the amount with you is the person holding the syringe.
I'm writing this because people often compare filler by the rate per mL, and that number says little until you know how many mL your face needs and which product goes where.
The short answer: your total comes down to the product, the volume across your areas, and add-ons such as sedation. A figure can reasonably change once a doctor has seen your face, which is why the questions below matter.
If a quote is already worrying you, send a front-facing daylight photo on WhatsApp and ask one thing: how many mL would the area that bothers you most take?

What decides Seoul dermal filler cost for your face?
Filler is sold by volume, so your total is a sum. On my list each product is priced by the mL, the rate is set differently from 2 mL upward, and Belotero and Juvederm sit on separate lines. Five things then move your own figure.
| What moves it | Why it changes the figure | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Product | Soft, medium and firm gels suit different areas. On my list, moving from Belotero to Juvederm carries an additional fee. | Which product for which area? |
| Total mL | Hollow temples or deep folds usually take more volume than fine lines. | How many mL per area, and in total? |
| Number of areas | Each area adds volume, though support added in one place can change what another needs. | Which area comes first? |
| Anesthesia | Numbing cream is common. Sedation is a separate decision. | Is either one in the figure? |
| Days and follow-up | A later recheck or top-up can mean extra nights in Seoul. | What happens if more is needed later? |
One line is easy to miss. My listed prices are before VAT, so check whether VAT is inside any figure you're comparing. Prices can also change over time, which makes a current figure more useful than one from an old forum post.
The last row matters most if you're arranging this for a parent. Hotel nights, a second visit and the trip home are part of what the plan costs your family, even though they never appear on a clinic's price list.
For your own number, send a side-on photo on WhatsApp with the areas you have in mind, and ask what it would cost for your case.

Thread after thread makes the same few claims. Here's how they hold up medically, as general claims rather than anything about one clinic.
The claim that one syringe is enough is sometimes true. A small correction in a small area may need very little. Someone with hollow temples and deep folds is a different case, and a low quote built on too little volume may not change what they came to change.
The claim that filler can always be dissolved is true only for some products. Hyaluronic acid filler can generally be broken down with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Biostimulators such as Sculptra can't be undone that way, so that decision carries more weight.
The claim about how long it lasts swings from six months to many years, and both ends get repeated. Hyaluronic acid fillers commonly last from several months to about a year or more, and the product, the area and the person all shift that. Look at what you'd pay over the years you plan to keep the result, since a single visit tells you only part of that.
The claim that you'll be back to normal the next day holds for some people. Others bruise for a week, and reviews rarely mention which area was treated or how much was used.

Which filler methods are on the table?
The methods differ mainly in the gel's firmness and in how the product behaves. These are the hyaluronic acid families I work with, and where each is used:
- Soft gels: Juvederm Volbella for sunken eyes; Belotero Soft for horizontal neck lines and fine lines around the mouth.
- Medium gels: Juvederm Lift for marionette lines; Belotero Volume for cheeks, temples and folds.
- Firm gels: Juvederm Voluma for cheeks, temples, forehead and nasolabial folds; Juvederm Volux and Belotero Intense for the nose, chin and jawline.
The nose has its own limits, and I've written separately on what nose filler can and can't lift. Body areas follow a different logic again, because shoulder filler and the collarbone line involve other volumes and are most commonly planned together with botulinum toxin for the trapezius.
Sculptra sits apart from these gels. It's a biostimulator that builds gradually by prompting your own collagen, it's priced by the vial, and it can take more than one session, which matters when you live abroad. If you've seen products sold for home use, it's also worth reading how a filler stick compares with injected filler before you count one as an alternative.
Worth knowing: Two mL figures can be compared only when the product is the same. Ask for the exact product name on any quote, and ask to see the sealed package on the day.

How I approach a filler plan
Every plan at my clinic starts with a skin analysis. I choose the product or combination for your face, and I don't start from a package. My three principles are the correct amount, a genuine product and a specialist doing the work: exact dosing, never more and never less than your skin needs.
Say you're 58. Your temples have hollowed, the fold beside your mouth has deepened, you land on a Tuesday and you fly home the following Monday. A quote for the fold alone would be easy to write. I'd first ask whether the fold is deep on its own, or whether lost support higher up is making it look deeper.
If lost support is a large part of it, I'd want to restore that first and put less into the fold, because too much product there tends to look heavy. Now the product has changed, the mL have changed and the figure has changed. That's why a fold-only quote and a whole-face quote can look nothing alike, and neither is wrong.
Doctor's note
If your skin is thin and finely lined, more filler is often the wrong answer, and a smaller plan or a different treatment may suit you better. On young, firm skin with little volume loss, I'd also question whether you need much at all. A consultation exists to set realistic expectations, and that sometimes lowers the number.
Recovery and your flight home
For many people, swelling and bruising are most visible in the first few days, then fade over a week or so. Lips and the area under the eyes tend to show it more. Filler can also look different once swelling has settled, which is why injecting the day before a long flight leaves you no time to see how it has settled.
Build your dates around our calendar. We're closed on Wednesdays, Sundays and public holidays, and Saturdays end at 16:00. Land on a Tuesday night and the earliest day you can come is Thursday. Friday is our longest day, running until 20:00.
If your plan includes more than one area, leave spare nights between the injection and your departure, and put those nights into your budget. For a fuller look at short stays, see these six risks to weigh before you fly.

Who should wait, and what can go wrong?
Risks and side effects to know
The common effects are temporary: swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness at the injection site, usually lasting days to a week or two. Small lumps can appear, and some need treatment.
The rare and serious one is filler entering a blood vessel. The US FDA's dermal filler page lists this risk, which can damage skin and, in rare cases, affect vision or cause a stroke. Severe pain, skin turning pale or dusky, or any change in vision needs emergency care straight away, wherever you are.
As general medicine, you should usually wait or talk it through first if you have an infection or inflammation at the site, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have had a recent laser or peel in that area, or have taken isotretinoin recently. Tell your doctor about any allergy to an ingredient. Blood thinners, including daily aspirin in an older parent, raise the chance of bruising, and they shouldn't be stopped without asking the prescribing doctor.
The US CDC's medical tourism advice is to arrange follow-up with a doctor at home before you travel. I'd add one thing: leave Seoul with the product name and the mL for each area written down, because any doctor who sees you later will need them. If a reaction appears after you fly, a local doctor can see you sooner than anyone in Seoul, so start there when it's urgent.

Before you message us
On WhatsApp, send a front and a side photo in daylight, your arrival and departure dates, and the one question on your mind, such as how many mL you'd need.
You'll get an answer about what is realistic, and a quote, before you book. When you come, I'll examine you and recommend what fits your face and your days. Results vary from person to person.
