Rejuran Korea Side Effects: How Long? Cost, Reviews, Methods
Rejuran Korea side effects: how long bumps, swelling and bruises last, and how many days to plan. Send a photo and dates on WhatsApp.

Worried that Rejuran Korea side effects, the bumps, pinpoint bruises and puffiness people post about, will still be on your face when you fly home?
Read this before you pick your treatment day.
You'll know what each reaction looks like and how many days it usually lasts, how the Rejuran methods differ, what reviews get right and wrong, and what decides the cost. That way you can choose a line and a date that fit your skin and your trip.
Hello, I'm Dr. Hongseok Kim, a board-certified dermatologist with 21 years of experience and the Medical Director of VOS Dermatology Clinic in Gangnam. I see you for the consultation and I perform the procedure myself.
Our clinic is a four-floor building in front of Dosan Park. We offer the full Rejuran line, Healer, HB and the eye formulation, and the price list is the same for every nationality.
A common planning mistake is booking Rejuran the afternoon before a long-haul flight, then spending the whole flight wondering whether the bumps are normal.
The usual side effects of Rejuran are small raised bumps at each injection point, redness, mild swelling and sometimes pinpoint bruises. For many people the bumps flatten within a day, swelling settles in two or three days, and a bruise can take about a week to fade. Infection and allergic reactions are uncommon, but they need a doctor.
If you're unsure which area to start with, send one daylight photo of it on WhatsApp with the question that's on your mind, such as whether the under-eye area is worth doing on a short trip. One photo is enough, and you can ask before booking anything.

What do Rejuran side effects look like, day by day?
In short, this is the usual first week after a face session of Rejuran Healer. The eye area runs on a slightly slower clock, which I cover further down.
| When | What you'll usually see | What helps |
|---|---|---|
| First hours | Rows of small raised bumps, redness, a warm or tight feeling | Leave the bumps alone; skip makeup until the next day |
| Day 1 to 2 | Bumps flattening, light puffiness, tenderness when pressed | Sleep on your back; skip sauna, hot baths and hard workouts |
| Day 2 to 7 | Any bruise turning yellow and fading | Concealer is usually fine once the injection points have closed |
| Week 2 onward | Visible marks gone; skin quality changes build slowly | Plan the next session about a month later |
The bumps are what alarm people most, and they're also the most predictable part. They mark where the product sits right after injection. They aren't swelling from damage. If you want to see how skin quality tends to change over the following weeks, I've written about realistic Rejuran results week by week.
Why does Rejuran leave bumps?
Rejuran is a polynucleotide (PN) skin booster made from purified salmon DNA. It goes into the dermis as many small micro-injections. PN is thicker than a typical hyaluronic acid booster and is placed shallow, so each point holds a tiny raised bleb until the product spreads into the tissue around it. Its job is to support the skin's own repair environment, fibroblast activity, barrier strength and hydration, so it doesn't fill the way filler does.
That explains why the bumps look dramatic for a few hours and then flatten on their own. Pressing or massaging them won't make them go down faster, and it can add bruising.
Bruises are a separate thing. They happen when the needle crosses a small blood vessel. They're more likely if you take blood-thinning medicines, or supplements such as fish oil or high-dose vitamin E, or if you drank alcohol the night before.
A systematic review of polynucleotides in esthetic medicine, published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, found that the side effects reported in studies were mostly mild, temporary injection-site reactions. That fits the mechanism: the reactions are local, short-lived and easy to see.

Rejuran methods: Healer, HB and the eye formulation
The Rejuran lines feel and heal a little differently, mostly because of where they go and what's mixed in.
Rejuran Healer is the PN formulation for the face and neck. It produces the classic rows of bumps, and it's the one people describe as stinging during injection.
Rejuran HB combines PN with hyaluronic acid and lidocaine. The lidocaine makes the injection more comfortable. The hyaluronic acid adds hydration, and that can mean slightly more puffiness on the first day.
The eye formulation (Rejuran Eye on our price list, also called Rejuran i) is made for the thin skin around the eyes. It's where Rejuran side effects for the eyes come in. That skin is thin and has many small vessels close to the surface, so a bruise there shows more, and fluid tends to collect under the eyes overnight. Puffiness can look worse the next morning and often takes a day or two longer to settle than on the cheeks. If you have photos, a wedding or an important meeting soon after your trip, don't treat the eye area last.
The standard protocol is three sessions about a month apart. For the full breakdown of lines and session plans, see Rejuran types and sessions in Seoul, or the Rejuran treatment page for how PN works in the skin.
How many days should you plan in Seoul?
The injections themselves don't take long. What sets your trip length is the side-effect window and your flight.
Say you land on Thursday morning and fly home on Monday evening, with a video call at work on Tuesday. I would put Rejuran on Friday. We're open until 20:00 that day, so even a late arrival on Thursday leaves you a full rested night first. The bumps have usually flattened by Saturday, and Saturday's hours, 10:00 to 16:00, give you a clinic day if something looks wrong. We're closed on Sundays, Wednesdays and public holidays, so a Saturday afternoon session would leave no open clinic day before you leave. Monday morning is open again if you want to come in before the airport.
For the eye area, add a day to that buffer. If you plan all three sessions in Seoul, each visit needs the same margin, and the visits should be about a month apart.
Before you book anything, write a short list in your WhatsApp message with your arrival and departure dates. Add any blood thinners or fish oil you take, and any laser, peel or filler you've had in the past month. Those details change which day suits your trip.

How I approach Rejuran when you fly soon after
Every skin is different, so I start with a skin analysis before choosing anything. I don't apply one standard plan to everyone. For Rejuran that means deciding which line suits your skin, which areas actually need it, and how much product each area should get. The amount matters for side effects as well as results. I use the dose your skin needs, never more and never less, and on a travel schedule that keeps the bump and bruise window as short as it reasonably can be.
The second thing I think about is what else is on your plan. If you're also considering a lifting device, the reactions add up. What is normal after Ultherapy is a different list from the one above. If you're combining several boosters, side effects of Korean glass skin treatments covers how they overlap.
Doctor's note
If you only have one treatment day, I would rather place it early in your trip and treat a little less than squeeze more in on the day you leave. The bumps are rarely the real problem. The real problem is having a question about your skin when you're already on the other side of the world. Give yourself one day in Seoul after the session when you can look in the mirror and still reach a clinic.
When is a reaction not normal?
Risks and side effects to know
The common reactions are temporary: raised bumps for a few hours to about a day, redness and mild swelling for one to three days, tenderness when you touch the area, and bruising that can last up to about a week. Under the eyes, puffiness and bruising usually take longer.
Less common reactions include small lumps you can feel under the skin for a couple of weeks, a flare of acne or a cold sore in the treated area, and allergic reactions. Infection is rare. It shows as redness that spreads, gets hotter or more painful after the second day, sometimes with pus or fever.
As general medicine, these people should usually wait or skip Rejuran:
- anyone with active acne, infection or a cold sore at the injection site
- anyone who had a laser treatment or a peel on the same area in the past couple of weeks
- anyone taking isotretinoin now or recently
- anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding
- anyone with a known allergy to fish or salmon-derived ingredients, or to lidocaine if HB is planned
If you take a prescribed blood thinner, tell us, and never stop it without the doctor who prescribed it.
If a reaction appears after you've flown home, take a photo of the area each day in the same light. If redness spreads, heat or pain increases after day two, or you get a fever, see a doctor at home promptly and show them the product name and treatment date. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises people who travel for treatment to carry copies of their records and to arrange follow-up care at home before they leave. That advice applies to a skin booster too.

What do reviews get right and wrong?
Review threads about Rejuran tend to repeat the same few claims. Some hold up medically and some don't.
The first is that Rejuran stings more than other boosters. That's partly true for Healer, which contains no anesthetic. HB contains lidocaine, and numbing is usual for any of the lines. We also offer nitrous oxide sedation if needles are your main fear.
The second is that the bumps last a week. On the cheeks they usually don't. What can last about a week is a bruise, and under the eyes puffiness can linger for a few days. People who write about a week of bumps are often describing bruising or eye-area swelling.
The third is that your skin glows the next morning. Some of that early plumpness is fluid and hydration from the injections, and it fades. The changes in skin quality build over the course of sessions. With three sessions a month apart, results typically last more than six months.
The fourth is that salmon DNA means a fish allergy risk. The PN is purified, but if you have a known fish allergy, mention it before treatment. Being cautious there is reasonable.
What decides the cost?
The cost for your case comes down to a few factors:
- the line: Healer, HB or the eye formulation
- how much product goes in, which follows how many areas you treat (face, neck, under the eyes)
- the number of sessions, since the standard protocol is three
- whether Rejuran is combined with another treatment in the same visit
- whether you choose sedation
Our price list is the same for every nationality.
To get the figure for your face, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case, and attach a photo of the areas you want treated.

Before you message us
The most useful first message is one daylight photo of the area, front and side, your arrival and departure dates, and the one question you most want answered. For example: can I do the eye area on this trip and still look fine at work on Tuesday? Send the photo and you'll get a straight answer about what's realistic, plus a quote, before you book.
When you come in, I examine your skin myself and recommend the line, the amount and the day that fit your skin and your flight. Results, and how long side effects last, vary from person to person.
