Thermage Eyes in Seoul: Eyelid Tightening, Results, Price

The eye area is where I slow down most, because the skin there is thin and small differences show, so I want to explain Thermage for the eyes carefully before you plan a trip around it.

Thermage eyes means Thermage FLX used with the dedicated Eye Area Tip on the upper and lower lids and the skin around them. It aims at eyelid firmness and fine wrinkles around the eyes, with no incision and no downtime. This article is for adults who already know roughly what Thermage is and want the narrower answer: what it does around the eyes, and what it does not. Why the eye area gets its own tip and its own shot count

Eyelid skin is among the thinnest on the body. It creases thousands of times a day and sits over a delicate area with very little fat. A tip made for the cheeks spreads energy over a surface that is too large and too flat for the curves around the orbit.

The Eye Area Tip is smaller and built for that anatomy. It lets the energy follow the lid and the crow's-feet area without overlapping onto structures it should not heat. That is why the eye option is a separate treatment on the price list rather than a few extra pulses added to the face.

The mechanism does not change. Radiofrequency heats the dermis while the surface is cooled, existing collagen contracts slightly, and new collagen forms over the following months. What changes is scale and precision.

What Thermage for eyelids can realistically change

When the concern matches the technology, the change is quiet and useful. These are the eye-area problems radiofrequency is suited to:

• Crepey, finely wrinkled lid skin that looks like tissue paper
• Mild hooding where loose skin sits on the upper lid crease
• Fine lines at the outer corners that remain when the face is at rest
• Early softness of the lower lid skin without heavy bags
• Makeup that creases or settles into lines by the afternoon

People rarely tell you that your eyes look "done". They say you look rested. The upper lid crease may show a little more, and the skin under the eye may look smoother in daylight.

What it will not fix around the eyes

This is the section I spend the most time on in the consultation room, because most disappointment around the eyes comes from a mismatch here.

Heavy upper-lid skin that rests on the lashes is a surgical problem. So is a brow that has dropped significantly, which pushes skin down onto the lid from above. Lower-lid bags caused by fat pushing forward will not be flattened by heat, and tightening the skin over them can make them look no smaller.

Dark circles are another mismatch. Pigment, visible vessels and hollowing each have different causes, and none is primarily a skin-laxity problem. Lines that appear only when you smile are driven by muscle movement, not loose skin. Those respond to a wrinkle relaxer, which I explain in my guide to Korean botox.

Worth knowing: If your main complaint around the eyes is hollowness, dark color or bags, a Thermage eye session may leave you disappointed even if it was done well. The honest first step is to name the problem correctly, and sometimes the right answer is an oculoplastic surgeon rather than a device.

The session, the recovery and when results show

At VOS the consultation happens in a private room on the second floor, and the treatment itself on the third. I examine the lids with your eyes open and closed, at rest and while smiling, and decide whether the eye tip fits before anything else is planned.

On the day, cooling gel goes on and the handpiece delivers pulses around the eyes. Session time is less than one hour. For comfort there is cooling and built-in vibration, and nitrous-oxide sedation is available if heat near the eyes makes you anxious. In general the eyes are protected while the lids are treated, and contact lenses come out beforehand.

The eye area can look a little puffy for a few hours because the tissue is loose and holds fluid easily. Sleeping with your head slightly raised that night helps. Results, timing and recovery vary with skin thickness, age and sun history.

Thermage eye vs other eye-area options at VOS

Around the eyes, several documented options do different jobs. They are often compared as rivals, but in practice they answer different questions.

Wrinkle relaxers handle movement lines at the outer corners. Thermage handles laxity and crepiness. Many eye areas have a bit of each, which is why a combination is sometimes sensible and sometimes not.

Listed prices for Thermage eyes and related eye options

Thermage FLX Eye, 450 shots, is listed at ₩2,200,000 on the official English price list. For comparison, Thermage FLX full face, 600 shots, is listed at ₩2,400,000. The eye option costs close to the face option because it uses its own tip and its own pulses, not a slice of the face treatment.

How I approach Thermage around the eyes

I start with a simple question: what do you see in the mirror that bothers you? Then I look for the cause. Loose, crepey skin points to the eye tip. A heavy brow points to lifting. Hollowness, dark color or fat bags point elsewhere.

If Thermage eyes fits, I set energy by area rather than running one level across the lid, the corners and the lower lid. I watch your comfort through the session, because heat perception around the eyes varies more than on the cheeks. I would rather treat evenly and comfortably than chase intensity.
