Facial in Seoul for Foreigners: A Dermatologist's Guide

They ask the same practical things, so I want to answer them in one place.

The direct answer: a facial in Seoul for foreigners goes most smoothly when you treat it as a short medical visit, not a spa booking. Choose a dermatology clinic that assesses your skin first, check that prices are published the same for all nationalities, and match the facial to how many days you have left in the city. This guide is for adults travelling to Seoul who want a clinic facial without wasting a day of their trip.

Here I focus only on what changes when you are a visitor: booking from another time zone, skin that has just been on a long flight, prices, and aftercare while you are still sightseeing.

What changes when you book a facial from abroad

At home, a facial is easy to repeat. If it does not suit you, you try something else next month. As a visitor you usually get one attempt, on a fixed calendar, and you may be flying out two days later.

That changes three things. First, the choice has to be right the first time, which is why the skin assessment matters more than the name of the treatment. Second, recovery time becomes a scheduling problem, not just a comfort question. Third, you need to know the cost before you arrive, in the currency you will actually pay in.

None of this makes a clinic facial harder for foreigners. It simply means the planning happens before the visit, usually over WhatsApp, rather than at the reception desk.

Travel skin: why your face may look different on arrival

Many visitors tell me their skin looks worse in Seoul than at home. Often that is travel, not a new skin problem. Cabin air on a long flight is very dry, sleep is disrupted, and the local climate may be colder, drier or more humid than what your skin is used to.

In general, this shows up as tightness, flaking around the nose, a dull tone or a few new breakouts. The barrier is under strain for a few days. That is worth knowing before choosing a facial, because stripping or aggressive steps on stressed skin can leave it redder.

For that reason, I look at travel skin carefully. Dryness from a flight often responds well to a gentle cleanse and hydration. Deeper, longer-standing dehydration is a different problem, and I only treat it with a booster when the skin underneath shows it needs one.

Worth knowing: If you arrive with a sunburn, an active rash or skin that stings with your usual products, tell me before we start. A facial can wait a day or two. Treating irritated skin to fit an itinerary is the choice I see visitors regret most.

Matching the facial to your length of stay

The most useful question I ask visitors is not "what do you want?" but "when do you fly home?". The same skin can get a different plan depending on the answer. This table is how I usually think about it; your own plan depends on your skin.

The HydraFacial is the facial most visitors picture, and for a short stay it is often all you need. It is a three-step device treatment of gentle exfoliation, deep pore cleansing and serum infusion, and VOS is a designated HydraFacial Black Diamond Center. When there is a little more time and your concern is texture or fine lines, MiraJet pushes hyaluronic acid, vitamins and growth factors into the dermis with a high-pressure jet instead of a needle. It suits people who bruise easily or dislike needles, which many travellers do.

Booking, arrival and the visit itself

Most foreign visitors reach us first on WhatsApp at +82 10-9697-4628. Our team replies with questions, asks for a photo, and books a consultation around your dates. Messages from different time zones are fine; you do not need to call.

The clinic is at 806 Eonju-ro, Gangnam-gu, in front of Dosan Park. The nearest subway exits are Line 7 Gangnam-gu Office Station Exit 3, about an 11-minute walk, and Line 3 Apgujeong Station Exit 3 or Suin-Bundang Apgujeong Rodeo Station Exit 5, each about 14 minutes on foot. Many visitors simply take a taxi to the address.

Opening hours are 10:00–19:00 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00–20:00 on Friday and 10:00–16:00 on Saturday, with a lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00 on weekdays. We are closed on Wednesdays, Sundays and public holidays. That Wednesday closure catches many visitors out, so check it against your itinerary.

On the day, you start with me on the second floor, where consultations take place. I look at your skin in person and use our 3D skin analysis to see what the photo could not show. Facial treatments then take place in the treatment rooms upstairs. A HydraFacial visit, including the consultation, fits comfortably into half a day of sightseeing.

What a facial costs for international visitors

VOS publishes one official English price list. It states that prices are in Korean won, that 10% VAT is added where applicable, and that the same pricing applies to all nationalities. You do not pay a different rate for being a tourist.

HydraFacial is not on the current English price list, so I will not quote a number for it. Our team confirms the price on WhatsApp before you book, or at consultation. The deeper facial-menu options are listed, and these figures are copied exactly from the list, in KRW before 10% VAT.

What changes the total is which option fits your skin, how much product your face needs and whether a course makes sense for your travel pattern. Aftercare while you are still travelling

Aftercare is where travel plans and skin plans collide. A facial with no downtime lets you walk straight back out into the city. Even so, a few habits protect the result.

• Wear sunscreen every day, and reapply if you are walking outdoors for hours.
• After an injectable booster such as Rejuran, avoid washing your face and wearing make-up for 24 hours.
• For about a week after Rejuran, skip saunas, hard exercise and alcohol, and do not rub the treated skin.
• Drink water on the flight home and use a plain moisturizer rather than new products bought on the trip.
• Hold off on trying several new skincare products in the days right after a treatment.

If redness, swelling or bumps last longer than the timeline I gave you, send a photo on WhatsApp. It is easier to answer early than after you have flown home.

How I approach a facial for visitors from abroad

I start with your skin and your flight date together. If your skin is clean but tired from travel, I will suggest a HydraFacial and nothing more. If it is dry and thin even after a day of rest, I will explain why MiraJet or a booster targets the real problem, and whether your stay allows it.

I keep a visitor's plan short. One well-chosen treatment usually does more than several stacked into one week, and a result you can carry home matters more than a long list. I also tell people plainly when a facial is not the answer. Sagging along the jaw or a change in face shape is a lifting question, and no facial reaches it.
